The Impact

Grupo ETE and Bound4blue

Unlocking Fuel and Emissions Reduction

Bound4Blue, a startup specializing in foldable wing-sail solutions partnered with Grupo ETE to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions in maritime vessels. By installing Bound4Blue’s technology, vessels can reduce fuel consumption by 640 tons annually, resulting in savings over 300,000€ and a reduction of 2,034 tons of CO2 emissions per year—equivalent to the emissions of 538 diesel cars. This solution drives both economic and environmental benefits in the maritime industry.

Grupo ETE and Sensefinity

Logistics Innovation for Efficiency and Sustainability

Aiming to revolutionize container management, Sensefinity partnered with Grupo ETE to install GPS and GSM trackers coupled with Sensors on maritime shipping containers. This solution allowed real-time monitoring of location and the container’s door state through an intuitive web application. This innovation can reduce food waste by 30%, and cut down transportation-related carbon emissions by 10%, while increasing efficiency.

Enhancing Port Operations for Higher Revenue

APDL partnered with i4cast to customize forecasting software, improving port efficiency and safety by increasing vessel maneuverability. The solution provided accurate draft forecasts up to seven days in advance, allowing for larger vessels and increased loading capacities. The potential 0.9m draft increase could add 720 TEUs per ship, generating an additional EUR 2M in revenue and boosting berth availability by 6.6x. This approach offers a cost-effective alternative to dredging, which would require an investment of EUR 100M for a similar result.
